Center cap cleaning if darkened

I'm posting here as I don't think these part numbers are only for 9-5s.
I've got two types of center caps
PN 5236294 - shiny top surface, thin and then thick chrome colored rings in logo
PN 12802437 - less shiny without the outer chrome ring (griffin and text might be slightly larger)
Presumably the ones made with grey plastic (PN 12775052) are like the second one. The second ones became dark. I tried various things to clean them (polish, 303, Vinylex ). Eventually I recalled a tip from the detail BB. ArmorAll Cleaning Wipes (purple background) removed a layer of dirt. The older caps seem to have more dimensionality, but the newer ones are now much cleaner.
I don't think anything will restore the first type of cap when the griffin fades.
These wipes also work on the radio/SID/ACC buttons when the rubber coating has broken down. I've not found a way to restore that layer. Possibly one can get a cloth of similar material to these wipes and buy the surfactant. The wipes dry out faster than my limited use. The wipes seem to soften the broken down layer and then with friction from rubbing collect the layer in the wipe.
