I ran 215/55R16 for the Michelins on steel wheels (bought the whole set used and sold them the next year). I'm now running Hakka R 205/55R16 on alloys for winter (bought the set on steelies because I could not buy alloys in time).
Absolutely, if the Ice Guards are what you are interested in go for them. Michelins and Hakkas will be on the higher end of price. Primacy Alpin is the touring winter tire. XIce3 is the "full on" snow tire (more features, lower speed rating). Pilot Alpin are their "performance" snow tires, and possibly not available in smaller wheel sizes.
I'm not sure about the WR's as I have not owned a set though I've considered getting a set for the second wheels on a c900 that I drive only on sunny dry days in winter to keep it running well and not freezing up brakes!
