What is an average water bill in California? Here in the western Detroit outskirts we pay $80 to $100 every two months. People living north of the city pay much more as each municipality adds their own mark-up as they pass the city water on to the next town.
We have a sprinkler meter for which we pay a reduced water cost since these gallons don't require sewage treatment. But the local Water Dept charges enough of a flat service fee for this meter (which I had to purchase and have installed -DIY) that the 'cheaper' water actual costs more, unless you use a lot of it!
News stories reported in this area state that water around Sacramento is still free. Even during this drought!
What is the truth from the people who live in California?
