They work , I am not a plumber . Saves time and water and money , although the" running the water to flush the lead out" won't happen .
The hookup I have seen has a small pump that feeds the "old/cold water" back into the water heater , rather than running the water down the drain . When I first saw the set up , I was sure that Rubin Goldberg from "Bogus Jones Plumbing" hooked it up . But then I asked one of my buddies ...
I have been lucky enough through the years to know some plumbers , and after years and beers they have told me some of their secrets . Can't tell ya , sorry . Just know that some things work .
I know how to unplug any toilet with a five gallon bucket , but nobody needs to know , they just tell me to go do it when the subject comes up .
Garage sales and C-list keep me going ! Love those $5 specials !
