That's not a bad little unit, thanks for the info! Time to go look at Amazon...
What I have done in the past to solve loose fitting things is take a thin (1 1/2"-ish) strip of grocery paper bag and fold it to about 1/4"-ish width. I do this several times until there is an accordion folded strip that is thicker.
I then cut the strip to be just slightly longer than the circumference of the plug-in part. Wrap the folded strip around the plug, so it's sitting between the edges of the retainer springs, under the humped part. I don't butt the strip ends against each other, I overlap them side by side a little.
Carefully pushing the plug-in into the socket, the springs press down against the paper strip with enough resistance from the paper to give a good firm fitting. Since the paper is not close to any electrical connections, there's no risk of overheating and/or fire. As far as I'm aware!
It's worked like that for me for several years now. The type of paper isn't so important as the height of it under the springs. Not so high you cannot get the plug in, but not so low that the socket is still a sloppy fit.
