I sure wouldn't buy used, since prices are sky high on used cars--unless you're looking to buy high and sell low. I was looking to see what my leased Honda CRV is worth and a saw several dealers asking more for '19s with 40K on them than the sticker price on my car when new. That's the third lease car in a row that's turned out to be worth a lot more than the end buy out price. And I sure wouldn't spend $25K on a ten-year-old anything, especially an Audi. The Santa Fe looks to be the best bet. I still like my CRV a lot but it might be smaller than what you're thinking about. One you probably haven't considered is a Jeep Grand Cherokee, which can now be had with a third row--they're huge inside. I drove every ute on the market (including a Stelvio) when I was looking and the one that I flat out liked the best was the Grand Cherokee. It felt plush and expensive and had a better interior than a Jag or Range Rover. They aren't loved by Consumer Reports (neither were Saabs) and probably aren't as flat--out trouble free as a Honda or Toyota. But I owned two Wranglers and they were very reliable.
