I noticed my 9-5s have a constant battery drain to keep the computers going, which I would expect. I think that is the case for any modern car, maybe starting with the 9000. In the summer, the battery seems to hold up to the drain better so I charge little-used cars about once a month. But in cold weather I have to charge the batteries about every other week. But, the benefit of this is that the batteries last longer, sometimes as long as five to seven years. Of course, a battery maintainer is recommended for a car in storage, but I would fully charge the battery before storing the car because maintainers don’t put out much current to fully charge a battery. I also clean the terminals and cable ends regularly as they can get oxidized. I have toured the storage building of the AACA Museum nearby in Hershey and there are extension cords going every which way to power the batter maintainers on the old cars in storage. The storage building is not normally open to the public because the cars and trucks are parked very close together and you have to step over all the wires, but they give us access to the building for our annual Central Penn Saab Club dinner. The museum is highly recommended if you get to Central Pennsylvania because they do an excellent job on their displays. They recently concluded and event celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Tucker automobile. They have several Tuckers and great displays about the engineering of the cars.
