Mine came from China. I forget if it was on a website (chinacardiags) or aliexpress.

The build quality - especially the connectors to the CanDi box was terrible but it does work.
The display on my was intermittent but I was able to take it apart and re-seat it in its connector and that fixed it. The vendor was not very helpful and suggested shipping it back to China at my expense to look at it.

I had a lot of "fun" getting security access to work but got there in the end.

If you search the 9-3SS forum I think someone posted a VM (virtual machine) that will run on a modern Win11 laptop and it all ready to take a VIN to generate a security code over serial to the tech2. You need this even to change something simple like a door lock.

It might be worth posting in the classifieds to see if anyone who gave up on keeping their 9-3 still has the tech2 clone. Safer route to go.

If you are keeping the car and doing your own work I think a tech2 is near essential. It is a nice tool!
