Yes, it's true!
At the dealership tonight there was a Saab-evening with entertainers (Spanish music), wine 'n cheese, a show 'n tell, test drives (the Aero wagon 4 me) & etc and I WON!
It is 1/25 scale and radio-controlled. The classic blue Viggen.
What kind of wax should I be using? Will it have torque steer? Are the seats comfortable? Will it depreciate fast?
The MAN FROM SAAB, Mr David Staniforth, Brand Manager, Oshawa, says we may need to wait a bit (maybe a mid-year intro) for the model line to re-include the hatch. To me, this means lots of new product introductions not necessarily led off with a hatch 9-3.
David is a Saab man, having spent 12 years in Sweden. He says the General is working well with Saab, cutting them lots of slack and leaving them to do their own thing. Other opinions were shared.
He was candid about two "issues" I brought up when, after the show 'n tell, he opened the floor up for questions. 1st - the deep discounting and 2nd, the resale value. He thinks the General may help out somehow on #2 - he didn't offer how.
All in all, this was a great event. Sabb owners ARE a fascinating group of people and the girls all got prettier at closing time.
