I had an 86 Accord, nice precise incredibly realible (298K miles with original clutch, only thing was new carb). However, I'd have to say I'm glad I got my 9000. The gas mileage is a bit worse, but nothing too bad, and if you're driving over mountain passes its about the same. There's just something about my Saab that I didn't feel about the Honda. I don't know exactly, an attachment.
I will say this though, get ready to do a lot of work yourself on it or get reamed by a mechanic cause mechanics are pricey for em and so are parts. For parts I highly recommend partsbin.com My car had some problems, but I got em fixed and its been very nice and realiable since then. Oh also, if you get leather, I recommend you put neatsfoot oil on the seats a few times, that softens em up a bunch.
Just my two cents. HOpe some of that helps you.
