According to the German Motor Press, a number of
magazines, both VOLVO and SAAB are mismanaged by
their US owners Ford and GM. Their cars are no good
and the brands will ultimately disapear.

a) Considering how well VOLVO does with the S60 the
above statements are simple and plain BS. Volvo
sales are way up!

b) Considering that SAAB did make some money in 2000
and that a new 9-3 and a SUV are in the pipeline as
well as a reworked 9-5... not gona happen. SAAB sales
are up slightly and rather stable.

Lets face it, if you read magazines which make most
of their advertising $ with ads from VW, Audi, BMW,
Mercedes, why would they give these manufacturers all to bad reviews ???
Or why would they say anything positive about brands that
are competitors to their main customers... and that don't purchase
lots of ads.

No matter what magazine you read, the grade at the review is
in direct relation with the ads purchased by the manufacturer. !

So when you read that, Ford will close Volvo... or GM Saab, take
a good lough and read on... Ford and GM need their Euro brands
and they will not simply give the Euro market away to the Germans.
