The newer saab's aren't nearly as unique as the older ones but if you get the right year, they are/can be a lot more reliable & the motor/suspension is just as easy to tweek :o)
If a C900 is what you want, look at a 88 or newer one so you have the better brakes, & if you can 89 or 90 & newer so you have the better trans :o)
If a NG900 is what you decide on, try to go with a 98 or newer or a 9-3 would be the best. The 98's had lot's of updates done to them & the 9-3's just had a lot more :o)
My brother has a 98 900 SET 5 speed & it's been a completely trouble free car since they purchased it. It's got over 50K miles on it & has been flawless :o)
IMHO, it needs another 30+HP, much tighter suspension & better seats :o)
Personally I prefer the C900's & that's why I have 2 SPG's. The 88 SPG is for the nice days & the 87 is for the not so nice days as well as the nice days that my 88 isn't working :o)
