Hello everyone,
Just wanted to update you all on what the New England Saab Association is up to.
Last night 5/11/01 the NESA officers had a meeting.
My Saab was unavailible to attend so my husband Sean and I drove up in our fjord. John delRosario and Suzanne Chase came in his Spg, Ryan Emge drove his mother's newly acquired 9000, and Chris Mills hauled down from NH in his 99.
We met at The Crown Bakery in Worcester, MA. This bakery is a well known Swedish Bakery in this area.
They have been voted The #1 Bakery for at least ten years in a row. We met there to do a photoshoot of the officers and their cars. What better place than a bakery that is painted Swedish blue and yellow??
Pictures should be up on our events page in the next week or so.
While we were hanging out in the nearly empty Crown Bakery parking lot. The owner of the Crown Bakery drove by us and stopped for a little chat. He asked us for a copy of the pictures, we plan to bring him one this afternoon. <http://www.formalaffair.com/crownbakery/Crown-index.htm> Recognize the music playing on this page ??
Also when we were at the bakery a Black 1997 9000 CSET was watching us from another parking lot. Sean saw this and waved the guy over. Turns out this man is related to a former Saab President. We hope he'll remember us and join the Club. (photos will be up on the page soon)
We had planned to take a driving tour of some of the smoother roads in Worcester for driving on, but the photoshoot ran late. We ended up driving down a newly
torn up Park Ave. The pavers will be there next week..sorry John, hope the muffler is okay on the SPG.
Next, we had dinner at the, Tatnuck Bookseller. Located on Chandler street in Worcester, The Bookseller is another well known eatery in the Worcester area. And suprise it is also a bookshop.
One of the areas largest, as they also have an annex across the street, and a shop at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI)nearby. The Tatnuck Bookseller has advanced and done very well against all odds, including the Worcester town officers keeping them from having a liquor liscence for nearly ten years. Housed in an old warehouse building, the bookseller used to be the Historic Sleeper and Hartley Co. They were a company that made springs. More info on the bookseller can be found here: <http://www.tatnuck.com/default.asp>
Our meeting went very well, and things are going smoothly for NESA. We'll be meeting again soon, as we have quite a bit to discuss for our MAIN Event in August. (info will be on the events page soon)
