?Saab Customer Service?

Has anyone had problems with SaabUSA customer service for warranty/out of warranty repairs.
Took my 94 900s in before the warranty expired to have the dealer look at some rust problems I was having on the bottom of the driver side doors (F & R). Dealer said I needed to have the "District Manager" look at the car.
DM was having health problems of some sort and wasn't visiting dealerships for some time. Spoke to SaabUSA customer service and they said " No problem. As long as you make a complaint prior to warranty expiration, you're covered."
Didn't hear anything from my dealer regarding the DM visit even though I checked back several times. Finally got frustrated and called Saab again. They said to take it and get an estimate.
The short version is that Saab, through a variety of different levels of customer service "denied due to the age and mileage on the vehicle." When I mentioned that the problem was reported car prior to warranty expiration and that the failure for timely action was their's alone, the response was essentially tough s_ _t.
Anyone have a similar experience? Thanks
