Saw a new Eclipse yesterday all "riced" out. 17 inch rims, ground effects from an F-22 fighter. Looks like it just got back from winning LeMans. Took a look at the interior and what do you know? An automatic. 10 years ago all the rice boys had sticks, now that's changing. The same thing will happen to SAAB. I envision within the next 20 years the only way to get a stick SAAB will be to take European delivery. You'd like to think I'm wrong? Sorry. It is the force of technology and laziness and eventually at some point (probably the second half of this century) their will be so much tech onboard a car that the "driver" will be completely removed from the equation. They will look back on us driving our cars by the seat of the pants using simple analog instrumentation across the great black ribbons of highway with the same sense of awe and freedom that we romanticize the cowboys of the old west with as they "ride into the sunset". Boys, we are dinosaurs and the meteor has already hit we are just munching on what's left... but soon it will be gone.

PS: The good news is that as sticks become more and more rare they are less likely to be stolen for a joy ride!
