Buy some bug and tar remover. Carefully wet the spot and work the solvent in with a finger. Try to let the solvent do the trick, not friction. Blot with a cotton cloth and rewax.
This stuff works great - you can also find it at automotive paint suppliers a little cheaper. The can may be labled 3M Adhesive Remover or 3M Bug and Tar Remover, but it is the same stuff. It will not hurt the paint or plastic, but it will strip the wax off.
I had to do the _entire_ upper surfaces of my wife's A4 after it got badly dripped on. It worked fine.
