I was wondering if anybody in the New England area would be interested in participating in some indoor Kart racing at the excellent F1 Boston facility in Braintree, MA (2 minutes off I93). I was thinking of a Saturday evening/night (after 6pm) in Mid-July, tentatively July 21. There are a number of options which I will list below, and if I get a sufficient response by June 29 I will set something up. If you are interested, please feel free to email me directly. F1 Boston has some interesting specialty stores (Exoticar Model store, No Fear! race gear), a decent restaurant (Ascari), a bar, and generally enough activities beside karting to keep anybody entertained for quite a while. I will list our options below, and see which suits best. My thought was to have a fairly informal visit now, and if enough people are hooked, we can set up a bigger event later on, or a league in Fall/Winter if there is enough interest.
Please let me know what you think. I will post this on the General Info and Performance BBs only, if anybody thinks that is not sufficient let me know and I will add it to others.
F1 Boston fills up fairly quickly at times… I will list below the pricing information I got from them.
I will use the large track for all of this info, the shorter track is about 10% less.
Option #1:
1 hour $1,700 This will accommodate about 20-25 people, each getting about three 8 lap (6 minute or so) heats, and the fastest 8 people get a 10 lap final. ($85 or so per person).
½ hour is $900 or so, will accommodate 10-12 people.
Option #2:
Mini Grand Prix $75 per person minimum 10 people for the large track, 8 for small track.
Again, this includes three 8 lap heats and one 10 lap final for the fastest 8 drivers.
Option #3:
We can book a 12 lap session for a group of 6-8 people (or multiples of those numbers) at a rate of $25 per person, as long as one of the people in the group holds an annual license (which I do).
An F1Boston license is needed – a one day license costs $15, an annual costs $25, a competition license costs $40. (Option #1 includes a one day license).
F1Boston requires a 50% deposit at time of booking.
