without getting into all the techweenie details, I recalled reading a blurb on the Townsend site about MB coolant and how well it worked. Bought two gallons @ $14.00 USD each, flushed, and mixed 50/50 with distilled water.
Just by changing out the 6 month old (Havoline? Prestone? some major brand) coolant, I've noticed it takes longer for the needle to creep up in heavy traffic, cools down faster when moving again, just all in all better cooling performance.
Oh, and as I somewhat expected, flushing the system brought on a little steam from the heater core. little tube of Bars Leak and in a few days, leak gone :)
From memory on the Townsend site, the MB coolant is pH buffered, and will basically eliminate electrolysis. Well worth it IMO.
