I also was given a hard time when signing up w/ On-Star. At the time I had assumed it was a computer problem, but after reading these & other posts I think On-Star execs had better take a closer look at what is going on in this and other arenas. After "loosing" my original subscription, and they would not do anything to speed up the process(4 days) I finally got On-Star turned on 7 days after the original contact. I was fed up then, but it was free, so I wanted to try it out. (just try to get a supervisor) Regarding the phone subscription, because they are on an analog system (what year is this?!!!) I called on a landline phone to order 300 mins a weekago. At the time I was told that I would have to call from the car. I had to explain to the operator about the dangers involved in giving out credit card info on an analog phone system. She had no idea!! She did take the credit card info for later retrival from the car. So the other day I had 4 mins left out of my free 30 so I called to order the 300 mins for 1 year. Expecting it to be available in a few mins & we were traveling for the weekend, I was again surprised when she told me at least 48 hrs to activate it!!! I was so mad that I told her I was going to cancel at the end of the year & explained why. Of coarse it didn't matter to her-thats the problem it seems that nobody cares at On-Star. She even took away my remaining 4 free mins !!!!!!! Looking into Triad today. On-Star has direction problems to, but thats another story.
