I'll actually feel safer if the 'Utes lose weight... Posted by IrieTom [Email] (#1032) [Profile/Gallery] (more from IrieTom) on Wed, 1 Aug 2001 11:09:49 In Reply to: will cost lives, John A., Tue, 31 Jul 2001 22:28:30 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Sure, the people INSIDE them will not be as safe, but I'll have a better chance of surviving if someone in a lightweight, fuel-efficient SUV (when's the last time you heard THAT?) plows into me in my '86 SPG.
I'm perpetually amazed that anyone with a regular U.S. driver's license can just hop into a monstrous truck with an even bigger trailer and drive away with no special training whatsoever. There are a few truck-trailer combinations every bit as long as an 18-wheeler in my company, and no special license is required to drive them. I'm pretty sure that motor homes are similar, and some of those are as big as a greyhound bus.
