Since you've been running Mobil 1, the chances of you having any kind of deposits in the engine range from very slim to none<g>.
Just drain out the old, change the oil filter, and put in the new oil.
Change interval on my non-synthetics has been 25,000 miles or a year, filter change at 1/2 that. I've done oil analysis on the turbos and found the oil still good after 11,500 miles. Since I'm not driving as much as I used to, and since I now have 4 cars (well, 2 Saab turbos, 1 Volvo turbo and a Dodge van) to split the mileage, I normally dump the oil and filter yearly (which is about 10,000 on 2 of them. I cheat on the others and usually do it every couple of years. Oil turning black means it is doing what it is supposed to do--picking up the stuff and carrying it around to the filter. In the real old days, the oil stayed clean looking for the 1000 mile drain interval, and the sludge/carbon/gunk built up in the engine.
