So I bought a $1500 imac G3 700mhz 512mb. I get the computer the first week of January. The cd drive works but will not burn, nor copy, or anything. I have called tech many times and set on the phone and told them all the problems. They tell me to download all these updates and keep trying different cd's and speeds. So i spend another $15 bucks on cds. Every call is at least an hour long. They told me that i have a deffective drive, and i will need to take it to a apple certified repair center, which just so happens to be 45 min there. I will have to leave the computer there for a week or so, drive back and pick it up. This is bullcrap, i cant back up or save anything to disk to turn in for class(because the drive will not write)so i had to spend another $100 on a Zipdrive. Plus i have wasted $15 on Cds. Now they are telling me that i will have to drive a hour and a half roundtrip TWICE to get my computer fixed. Should i send them a bill for $115 plus mileage reimbursment?? Or is this what i should expect out of Apple and dumping 1500 into a computer. If the bastards didnt have an all sales final agreement i would piss on the computer and mail it back. Oh and the customer serivce manager always seems to be at lunch when i call. Should i call mastercard and stop payment? I just want a computer that works fine out of the box....they should work for the customer, i shouldnt have to run all around at my expense.
