I have a '97 900s auto with 97K (I too jave turbo envy, but otherwise love the car). It is rock solid at 75+ on the highway, corners like a good GS race ski, and will stop on a dime. Parts are definately expensive though. $680 for intermediate exhaust pipe and muffler at frickin' Midas last month. $750 for rotors and pads all around at a foreign car specialist in Ithaca, NY. I also needed a steering rack this spring. Would have cost me about $1100 but warranty covered it (a GM part in this car). I have a Deutche Financial Services Automobile Extend Warrany (http://www.dfs.com) and have used it twice. 100K bumper to bumper. Once for the neutral safety switch (would have been about $400 at the dealer), and second for the steering rack. I may be using it again this week for my horn that I can't figure out. THe warranty was about $1100 extra i think - but well worth it at this point!!!
Got my eye on a newer 9-3 when i finish grad school and get a job...
