Got HD and controller installed fine and WIN98SE back up after some putzing.
Time for RW-ROM. Notice existing DVD-ROM is on IDE BUS (main board) as secondary master. Ok, fine. Directions for new RW-ROM suggest that it should come off the ATA BUS (controller) as the secondary master and the old DVD-ROM off the same cable as the secondary slave, instead.
Q: (I dunno sh!t from shinola here) am I opening a can of worms by disconnecting the stock DVD-ROM connection and setting both drives up per the RW-ROM directions above? Kinda hard to load drivers if the PC can't find it's CDROM drive where it saw it last kinda thing.
P.S. new HD and controller blow old out of the water :p Thanks!
