The only reason I don't recommend NRWs is their being a discontinued design, with the WRs boasting improvements in materials (new silica tread compound), tread pattern ("Hakka Siping") and convenience (molded-in tread depth indicators - no, not the 2/32" wear bars). I found the NRWs to be very good in urban situation snow (slush, shallow snow, plowed snow) and dry roads. The WRs are even better! But the changeover has been anything but rapid, and the problem isn't finding leftover NRWs but rather finding the new style WRs. Even Nokian USA was unable to supply me with an evaluation set and had to "horse trade" with Pat Greer(who snared a supply from some other source. maybe he makes them in his basement :-))to get me a set.
