That steel grey is a tough colour to match (even with the Saab touch-up paint). Prior to the Stongard installation, i applied the clearcoat into the chips, and put the Stongard on top of that. Sure, you can still see the chips, but that took care of the corrosion problem.
I found the Saab touch-up paint slightly darker than the factory paint, even when dry, so that's why I went only with the clearcoat under the Stongard. I'd rather not see dark spots on my hood...the lesser of two evils, I guess.
My advice to you would be to try touching up one small chip on the hood with the steel grey. If it turns out that your paint matches the factory paint better than mine did, then go right ahead and touch them all up that way. If not, just use the clearcoat.
