Honda emission warrenty results-surprisingly good

Last week I asked about the federal emission warrenty (see link) and if a cracked exhaust manifold would be covered. Well I gotta give credit where credit is due. We brought the car to Babylon Honda here on Long Island and even with 83000 miles on the car, I believe that is 3000 miles over, the exhaust manifold was a covered repair. I was told by another source this is a $700 part. I said thank you very much and was very happy. I did not even have to beg and plead, they just said sure, no problem. Now to top it all off, after they had the car and gave it a once over the service guy calls and tells me that a complete tune up and oil change was included at no cost. Did he want me to do that also. While I tried to hide my surprise and continue like I was really half expecting this, I said sure, thank you.
In all honesty this is something that was going on for some time, I am sure exhaust manifolds don't just crack over night. And another source has told me this is not an uncommon problem with Honda Civics, although I don't know if thats true. I was certainly very pleased with how this dealership handled this problem.
