The pros are mainly centered around the fact that there are no reciprocating parts which make it _very_ smooth and free to rev. The engines themselves are generally tiny.
The cons are mostly what I feel are development issues: The apex seals are the wear point on one of these things. Mazda did a tremendous job in improving the then-current technology. Anyone remember the NSU Wankels? Those things would be lucky to get 20,000 miles on an engine.
