Coloured polish & clear coats...

I've been using one of those coloured polishes ('T-Cut'??) on my solid black OG900, and like how it has performed...
I now have a metallic blue 9000 which has a clear coat. Is it worth using a blue-coloured polish on these sorts of cars? Or will that that mess things up?
TIA
