All of the early 308's are on death watch Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Sat, 16 Apr 2016 05:11:22 In Reply to: Ferrari 308, AdamSAAB2kAero [Profile/Gallery] , Fri, 15 Apr 2016 18:01:44 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
From my very brief research when dreaming last Spring, the early 308's are carbureated with carbs for which both the units AND rebuild/repair kits are NLA. All of these still very pricey cars are only one carb failure away from being parted out. Extremely gorgeous cars, maybe because of my age bracket, maybe because of Magnum PI.
I was dreaming of the 348 only because a Chrysler Dealer located in the corn fields of N-W Ohio had one for sale last Spring. Never would return my emails or phone calls. The Internet Sales Manager called me multiple times to see if my questions had been answered (No), or if I had been contacted (No), or if I wanted to buy the car sight unseen! Yeah, right...............
Prices of the 348 models seem to have doubled in the past 12 months. Maybe because the oldest 308 models are terminal in their parking spots and the 348 was the least expensive Ferrari model in the marktplace. You would think the 348 would garner a little more respect simply because it was the last car that Enzo himself was involved in the design. But for some reason it resides/resided on the other end of the Ferrari-ista desirability spectrum.
