I think the Buick would be perfectly good if you drove it five years and 70/80K miles. After that is when the worm turns repair-wise on American and European cars. You need something Japanese. If you want to stay in the same price/size range a Toyota Highlander would be your absolute best bet. A Honda Pilot would be good but thirstier. Or you could save $10K (remember depreciation is your arch enemy), have almost as much room, and much better mileage with a Rav4 or CRV. You could put 150K (or more) on any of these cars with very little mechanical drama and still get good money when you sell them.
