While I myself love using and driving old cars, I have to point out that the lines you have in your picture are extremely rare outside of a few places in California. I have covered 80k miles in my 2017 Model S and have NEVER had to wait for a supercharger. Vast majority of the time I was the only one there. On the contrary, I am constantly worried about running out of gas in my last remaining gasoline car. My EVs (I also have a Nissan Leaf) are always full in the morning, so I don't ever think about fuel or range at all.
As far as EVs being overpriced, I think pickups are more overpriced, with most models people actually buy for non-business use being $50-70k. That is beyond ridiculous. A nice, roomy Tesla Model 3 with amazing technology is around $40k, which is definitely in line with similar cars in its class. But if you look at total cost of ownership, you cannot beat it. No maintenance costs, way simpler, electricity is several times cheaper than gas. Comparing apples to apples, my Model S has been saving me about $400 per month in fuel costs alone! That is $5k per year, not counting long trips! Every time I drive it to Florida or Canada, etc., I am saving a few hundred dollars vs driving my ICE car. Plus, the car drives itself 90% of the way.
But compared to a $1500 old car that serves your needs it cannot compete. Nothing can compete with that.
