Yes of course. I definately agree. Exactly why I wrapped it up with the statement:

The point is that there was no basis for the original statement to which I was responding. If anything the correlation suggests that it MAY go the direction opposite of that claimed when looking at the demographics. In marketing demographics is the primary interest not causation.
The causes are an entirely different matter. The experts are still trying to make sense out of that one. I wouldn't even try to come to a real conclusion.
