Diesel Jeep Liberty? Thoughts?

The time is coming to replace the '01 9-3. Started thinking about a diesel Jeep Liberty. Finally drove one tonight. While it was kind of loud like a diesel pick'em-up truck, it was a hoot to drive. I like it. What is the collective wisdom from the board? I know EGRs and torque converters were problem areas, but that all should have been addressed by DC by now, right?
