I really like the Fusion - if I were in the market for any such car it'd be at the top of my list. The new model (not Mazda 6 based) is looking to be quite sharp as well.
For daily driver tires, I cannot recommend the Continental ExtremeContact DW highly enough. If snow is a consideration, the DWS is also superb. Great mix a performance, weather handling, comfort, and durability. They have a solid warranty, too. There are cheaper tires, but an extra $50/corner over six years is not a bad deal.
I bought the DWS for a '99 A4q that does snow duty on a friend's recommendation, and was impressed enough I got the DW for my '95 Alfa 164Q. I'd buy either of them again in a heartbeat.
