Lock actuator motor for Jeep Liberty... Posted by CBS [Email] (#969) [Profile/Gallery] (more from CBS) on Wed, 11 Apr 2012 13:42:19 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
So the dealer wants $180 for a new rear door lock actuator. I took the old one out and freed some clips. That exposed some gears and a cheap little 12V motor that dropped right out. I stumbled across the fix (buying the little motor for $2.00 and replacing) on a Lexus forum. Having trouble sourcing the motor for the Liberty -- I need a splined shaft whereas the Lexus motor, otherwise identical has a smooth shaft. Anybody with experience tracking down these motors? Any opinions on whether the little gear that previously fit on a splined shaft would hold on a smooth shaft? JB Weld?
