Unfortunately it sounds like the ignition lock assembly have broken off a little doodad inside column lock jamming the lock tumbler. Very common.
The lock assembly has to be removed and a whole new one installed.
It is possible to start and move the car after some specialty know how work involving removing the shifter lockout cable, electric ignition switch, antenna ring and lock assembly from steering column.
You insert key in through the antenna ring while at the same time turning on ignition switch with a screwdriver but you have to do it in one sweep.
Then you order a new lock assembly from the dealer using the car VIN. That usually takes about 1 week or if the dealer is hooked up with a local locksmith, they might be able to use a generic lock assembly from the shelf and have the locksmith drill holes, pull out the lock tumbler and rekey it to your cars combination in a day or two.
