Hey guys I know this site is for SAAB which I have but I also have a Honda Accord 2001 that my son drives. Ok heres my queston my son and his friends put aftermarket headlamps on the car when they put them in only the one low beam worked. So I took it to the Honda dealer to have to looked at. The dealer didn't think that the two sockets were making contact and suggested hard wiring them I agreed and told them to go ahead and do that NO CHARGE TO MY SUPRISE. Didn't work dealer said must be bad left engine wiring harness would be $120.00 dollars for the part and $810.00 dollars in labor (at 90.00 dollars an hour can you believe thats its the standard labor rate) (9 hours) as the whole front dash would have to be removed. I know your saying it shouldn't take that long to take dash out and it doesn't but if youv'e ever been in the dash of a newer Honda you'll know there wired like a swiss watch it's amazing how much wiring they have crammed in that dash. But heres where it gets tricky I've been driving the car with one low beam for a couple days now and let him drive my SAAB hopefully Ill get it back in one piece. Before I took it to the Honda dealer the highbeams wouldn't turn on as well as only one low beam worked. But now after taking it to Honda dealer when you turn the high beams on both low beams work but the highs still don't come on is it possible Honda technician hardwired to wrong thing and it was actually the connectors not making contact any help or thoughts would be great. I have an apt for the car Monday morn I'm about to drop $1,000.00 so anyway to get around it would be great.
