I've had master cylinders go on my twice. Once on my 91se C, it broke before I got out of the garage - no warning. I just turned it off and took a different car. The other car was my E-type after it had sat for the winter. I had just started a 5 mile drive to my house from the storage garage. It was 6am on a sunday, so there was no traffic to speak of, and I drove slowly home without getting near any other cars. Wouldn't do that again.
