Lance,
Hope you had luck with todays race!
There should be no speed gov. to the SAAB of this era and hoping that you find something mechanical as your speed culprit.
During our conversation today, it seems as if the APC is prob. still capable of supporting higher charging pressures but ignition timing may need to be adjusted to allow for 10 dbtdc when under 18+ psi turbocharger boost/charging pressures.
We could also update the APC system to the 1986+ style control (would require you to find a salvage 1986-1993 900T APC wire harness connector which you would splice into the APC location under the rear seat of the 1984 900T) unit since these will provide additional charging pressure support and could easily add 15-20 additional BHP over the 1985 style upgrade. This 1984 engine with our cylinder head, camshaft, turbocharger, etc. should be very capable of supporting 24-26 psi charging pressures.
Please let us know what your ignition timing changes show as this should be a substantial change since we discussed the pos. of this engine being at 15 dbtdc when under maximum charging pressures (far advanced).
Best regards and we look forward to hearing from you tomorrow or monday!
