The exhaust-side housing on a T3 features a 5-bolt flange, which something is connected to. On a c900, there is a small housing which incorporates the wastegate door & swingarm, and another 3-bolt flange. The elbow bolts to that 3-bolt flange, then to the downpipe.
On other cars, the downpipe or elbow might bolt directly to that 5-bolt flange, or you could incorporate a housing to use an external wastegate. As equipped on most cars, the internal wastegate housing is poorly designed and a potential source of lost power. See my post immediately below for ATP's solution here...
