I think you may have misunderstood... the E36 will NOT fit because they are too tall. They do however fit into the top part of the caliper where the E30 pads must be ground down which is kind of strange. I suppose you could put one on the outside, but that's just not practical (or an advantage?). I really like that the E30 pads use the entire disc out to the edge. The stock pads leave a little ring of rotor on the outside when they wear down that can cause squeaking. So far so good!
