I have a 1990 SPG, that is awesome, I love it!!
It has a 3" exhaust from Jak (my favorite mod!), SD APC (adjusted boost to 18PSI), DIY AID with 20 degrees of retard, and "red top" injectors. I tried an EPROM but it just made my idle go to 1200+ and irratic (not a vac leak that I can tell). The FPR is the stock 2.5 bar unit. I left the big injectors on and removed the EPROM and all is good, even the idle.
My question is, do I need the EPROM to avoid the dreaded too lean condition, or can the stock ECU do OK with the big injectors? I love this set up, and want to do right by it.
I know, I have to buy a wid-band sensor, I just haven't had time yet.
TIA
~Junkie
PS, if my transmission goes, I'll buy a Scanwest unit, so don't worry about that. Regardless, I only boost heavy in 4th & 5th gear now.
