I wouldn't cut any battery cables you don't need to do that. Go to Summit Racing or Jegs and look under battery disconnect. You can get a quick disconnect fitting that connects to your negative battery terminal and the negative battery cable connects to it. To disconnect your power you turn this plastic knob counter clockwise to break the connection. Clockwise to turn power on. They sell for about $12 and would take you 5 minutes to install.
