Just to clarify, the statement about magnetic vs non-magnetic stainless steel is true in the case of automotive tubing, but is a generalisation. Austenitic steels are more corrosion resistant, while martensitic steels have greater structural strength. It's not necessarily cheaper, just meant for a different purpose.
