Pretty sure "open loop" happens when the sensor is too cold to work, so I'm better you can fake the ECU into thinking the sensor isn't ready by feeding some fixed voltage to the ECU... maybe .5v? I dunno - measure the output of your current O2 sensor when the car is on, but stone-cold. Or, just order up some European, non-O2-sensor-equipped car's ECU. :)
