Steve, thanks for the info. Our plans do not include going via Wolf Creek Pass, though I would enjoy that a lot more than the last time we went across there in a Suburban while towing a 6500 lb travel trailer. We are staying at least three days/ two nights in Ouray and plan to do some Four Wheeling (NOT in the Aero), as well as visit Purgatory, Silverton and Durango and whatever else we decide in the area.
We will then travel Hwy 50 through Canon City - anything interesting we should definitely check out around your area or along the Hwy 50 route? We already did the Silverton Railway a few years ago. That is cool, but a little too long and slow for me.
My two kids have cast iron stomachs - it's pretty funny to glance in the mirror and see them pinned over sideways while reading a comic book. The wife, on the other hand, starts squeeking and looking green if I get too enthusiastic in the turns.
BTW, what do you drive? I will look out for you in Durango. Here's the Saab content of this post: I will try the octane booster and see if it helps.
