FWIW, you should have no problem finding a 17" wheel that is quite a bit lighter. You can get cast 17" wheels in the 17-19lb range, and forged 17" in the 14-17lb range. If it suits you, there is a dude on Focus Fanatics (.com) selling a set of 17.5lb motorsports wheels for a grand. Not a screaming deal, but a decent price. Correct bolt pattern for the 9000, and a good-enough +40 offset. Could use a 5 or 10mm spacer, though, to bring them back out.
All that said, I've been told by a number of folks who drive for money that the average person is not going to be able to tell the difference between a couple pounds at the corners, and your money is better spent elsewhere. Add in some lightness and some body ridigity and you should see an improvement in the corners with little else. Of course, making those types of compromises on a daily-driven car is difficult, so your answer may be to add more power to make up for some slowness in the corners. :)
