Since I have several different cams here, I'll be taking a random set into a local shop here in abbotsford, bc (canada) by the name of Colt Cams to be reprofiled. This guy is seriously experienced, and has done Saab cams in the past...mostly 8v...he seemed thrilled to be doing a 16v one after so long. Still haven't decided which sort of specs I'll be aiming for, but somewhere along the lines of Catcams P/N 6100201, possibly slightly more aggressive.
I'm glad to hear that those very early 81 rods have been good to you. I haven't completely decided which rod as of yet, but likely I will be gearing towards the lighter (older) ones, as even these ones look rediculously overkill compared to all the rods people have shown me from other manufacturers in the last few days...
Probably would never ever tell the difference between 300g in the engine anyways, but my machinist said lighter often means less wear and fatigue
