Pilot Alpins are awesome!

I finally got my recalled ECU returned from Nordic and put a set of Pilot Alpins 225/45-17" on a Gary Fisher wheels. The straight line performance and road noise are hardly discernable from the OE Pilots. Turn in is crisp when making lane changes that you would not really know your on snow tires. Only on an onramp to the highway was I able to push it hard enough to get the car to understeer and it did it very predictably. Getting on the accelerator mid turn I was able to light the traction control light very easily. The OE Pilots are awesome for powering out of the turns. We finally got a few inches of snow and was quite amazed how well Alpins worked with the traction control. I found the acclerated faster if I kept the TCS light off and modulated the power myself rather than let the TCS do the work. On the highway I was still able to light up the TCS light at any speed but the car was amazing stable and quick.
The TCS also works in reverse. Pretty neat!
When the cruise control on I would add power(aggressively) enough to get the TCS light and the cruise would shut off but not all the time. Anyone know what the conditions are required for the crusie to shut off? Nice safety feature if your finding yourself on black ice.
